What do I know?
-I can differentiate between major and the three minor scales.
-I can sing major and harmonic minor scales.
-I'm okay with 1 3 5 scale degrees.
-Can usually aurally identify the different types of cadences.
-I can repeat back musical lines vocally (as long as there isn't too much time between when I hear it and when I sing it)
What am I struggling with?
-Aurally identifying intervals other than 1 3 5 jumps.
-Sight singing. I do okay if it's moving stepwise, but if there are larger skips I get derailed. It is also hard to practice.
-Dictation. I can sing something back to you, but when it comes to writing it down accurately, I have problems. Again, I think this has to do with the number of variables involved and the difficulty of practicing it.
-I have a little more trouble singing natural and melodic minor scales because they're not as obvious.
-I'm still trying to get solfeige into my brain.
-Aurally identifying chord qualities is still a problem.
My practice routine
The problem with my practice routine is that it isn't routine enough. I need to make more time to practice. I keep having spare time away from home and school without access to a piano. I was thinking about getting up earlier and getting it out of the way before classes because the evenings are busier. I'm going to talk to my fellow classmates and see if we can work out a time to practice the things where you need somebody to tell you if you're right or not. I use the ear trainers on musictheory.net. Mostly I just use the piano other than that.
Overall
I feel that I'm making steady progress. I just need to make faster progress.

Be prepared to sing a major scale (asc. & desc.), a harmonic minor scale (asc. & desc.), “ta” a rhythm pattern w/irregular division of the beat (Kazez or Krueger) while conducting (mwhahahah!), and sing a prepared sight singing selection from the assigned Berk pages.
