Today we experienced technical difficulties related to "Are we in F? Or are we in C?" Have a look:

I circled the CADENCES in green and two dominant chords in orange. So, forget the V of V business for now! Here's the simplest way to look at these two chords and the cadence in mm. 12:
- Look at the chord content - CEGBb (this only applies to beat one of the measure)
- Determine the quality of that chord - Mm7 (which happens to have a super strong association with dominant-tonic motion)
- Label the chord - C is scale degree 5 in F major
- Determine the cadence - don't be put off by the chords in mm. 11 . . . it's still a HC since it ends on V!
More advanced questions:
- In mm. 11, what is the (are the) chords in beat 2?
- Are there any inversion/chord errors above?
- How would you analyze mm. 11-12 if we were already in CM? How would that affect the cadence label?
