AP Journals

Page history last edited by DrJ 2 yrs ago

The Assignment:

Each of you will keep a regular practice journal specific to Aural Perception 138 and the skills we are building in class. You will need a small notebook to make record of your practice sessions, but I would prefer you utilize a blog to demonstrate your progress. Bring your practice journals or notes with you to each class section. If you choose to blog, keep it up to date (but also bring your notes), and be sure to let me know about it. (Send me an e-mail, edit this page with a link to your blog, leave a link in the comments, etc.)

First special journal/wiki assignment due Tuesday, March 13.  Comments were made on individual wiki pages.

The next journal/wiki assignment will be due Tuesday, April 17 by 10.10am.

FYI!

I will leave AP-related assignments and journal ideas on my Mindsay blog - http://msovoice.mindsay.com. Check there regularly!

A couple of free blogging sites I can recommend include:

  • WordPress (nice layouts, privacy settings, RSS to keep us up to date)
  • LiveJournal (privacy settings, friends page, post from anywhere - well, almost!, RSS)
  • Blogger (I've used this one; super easy especially if you have any sort of Google account, group blogs capabilities)
  • MindSay (cofounded by Brian Klug, PBwiki guru; he says it's one of the easiest ones to get started with and has similar features to the sites above)

You'll just need to find the right one for you.

Just as an example - I have an old blog that I thought about resurrecting... but I've decided against it. I'll put up a sample practice blog entry there.

Dr. James, I don't understand why I didn't get credit for AP journals on March 13th. I had seven (140 minutes of practice)entries between 2/6 and 3/13. The last time my thing shows you logging onto my page is Februray 21. I just want to know why I'm not getting credit for those hours.

Anna, chill. I don't check it every time and it's not a race to see who has the highest number of entries.
