This is the wiki for the University of Montana Department of Music's 1st year music theory series. More specificially this is a web resource and semester project for the students enrolled in MUS 112 and MUS 138, section 4, taught by Dr. Kimberly James.
Updates
Hi! It's Jesse. I guess this really isn't going to get used again. The new blood must have their own new Wiki. How OCD am I that I've checked this pretty frequently since the end of last semester. I miss those of you that I heven't seen in a while. I'll see the rest of you tomorrow.
Jesse, remember how you're not "allowed" to change the FrontPage. You get an F, haha! ~ Dr. James
What's a wiki?
Wikis are intended to be used as collaborative content management systems. A wiki is like an online document, a webpage, maybe even a "blog" all rolled in one that can be edited right inside your web browser. This site is shared and altered by the class. Each of you have the responsibility of creating, updating, and maintaining the course wiki. You may not edit THIS PAGE (the FrontPage). Please do not change someone else's work (other than basic spelling/grammar) without asking them.
Play in the SandBox. Experiment. Try editing in "both modes", but the classic mode is for more advanced users.
I will view the site regularly and will correct and update information as needed, as well as make suggestions for editing, style, organization, and content. Please treat this site with respect.
Please do not edit: sidebar, frontpage (this page)

I couldn't comment on the Files page, so I decided to just post it here. I added Tallis - Spem In Alium (40 Voice Motet) to our files for your listening pleasure. I don't know if you remember but we listened to this once in the joint class when we were studying modal counterpoint. I thought it was so cool that I downloaded it, and now I'm giving it to you! Its really cool, and pretty.. so you should really listen to it.
See you in class!

Does anyone want a FREE 91 key, Roland keyboard? It was my brother's - he spilled coke on it and now it is stuck on the coral sound and a few of the keys are sticky but they still work. It comes with a piano stand and pedal. The on off button is missing so you need small fingers or something small to turn it on with but it's not that bad either. It's FREE!! I just want it out of my room - it's taking up space.

Anna, I would be happy to take that piano off you hands. I'll talk to you about it on Monday. I call dibs.

Okay, who wants to do the notes for chapter five? I volunteer. I guess we can talk about it in the morning, but I'll probably start anyway.

Rrr...wouldn't it be better to have a Table of Contents on the Home Page so we don't have to search through the Side Bar...what happens if something we were trying to keep tabs on falls off of the "Recently Edited" bar? Or am I missing something stupid simple?

Bottom of this page, "show all pages", sort by date: http://umfreshmt.pbwiki.com/AllPages?ByDate=on
And there's still stuff in the "recently edited" log from LAST WEEK. That's not recent at ALL in web 2.0 time!

Why are there still people identified as guest on the recent visitor's list? Are you ashamed? Show yourself!!

I was just kidding. Actually, it's been so long since I did it, I can't remember. Make sure you're logged in. If you aren't, then you can view the site, but not edit.

DR.JAMES!
Lillian (my accompanist) called me today at 5:20/30ish. She can NOT go to my Jury tommorow at one. She said that she talked to Anne, who said she is avaliable Wed. between 11 and 1:30. Would you possibly be avaliable also? I emailed Dr.cody and am going to try to find his phone number.
Please let me know if you think this would work, or if you have any other ideas!!! I will also leave a note on your door!!
Thanks so much!!!
